October 3, 2013
The meeting was called to order by Gloria Eaton, President.

Nancy explained the Best Choice fund raising program.  For every 1000 Best Choice UPC Labels that we send in, we will receive $30.00.  We also have  a coupon for an extra $30 for the first 1000 that we send in.  So everybody start saving those labels!!

Nancy had a letter from Paula Kastler who is organizing baskets with baby items for the Hannah's Promise program in Parsons.  Paula has asked for 10 baby quilts by November.  Several members volunteered to make quilts for this cause. Size should be about 38" x 45"

Committee Reports
Christmas Party:  Ruth asked that everyone bring a homemade item for the Christmas gift exchange.

FUND RAISER QUILT
Becky showed us the completed quilt that will be used as a fund raiser.  Donation tickets are $1 each for a chance of winning the quilt.  She challenged all guild members to sell at least 20 tickets.  The drawing will be at the November guild meeting.  The quilt is 60" x 70".

DONATION QUILTS
Tammy and Gloria show off the completed quilt that will be used for donation at Christmas.  It was made using the BOM quilt blocks.
Tammy asked guild members to bring non-perishable food items that can be used to make food baskets for Christmas gift baskets.

Nita showed us the quilt top that Rhonda Heston has donated for use as a donation quilt.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH
There were two candy corn table runners for the BOM.  Mary Ann won the drawing.

Next month's BOM is the Poinsettia Wall Quilt.

SHOW AND TELL
Peggy brought her l/2 yard challenge quilt that she made for her granddaughter.
Peggy also showed us this lime green and black quilt made from a Fons & Porter pattern.
Mary Ann showed us the trick-or-treat bags that she had made.

PROGRAM
Nancy presented the program on decolorant.  You paint it on, let it dry in the sun or heat set it with an embossing heat gun.  There is also a decolorant plus, that adds color.
Nancy had made this fancy bag using the decolorant and a stencil
Meeting was adjourned and everyone enjoyed the refreshments.
