February 5, 2015

There will be an auction at the March meeting. Bring your donations to be auctioned to the Bin before the meeting. On auction night bring your money and your competitive spirit. Proceeds go to the itchin for stitchin guild. All sales final. Please smile if you receive more than you bid on.

UFO challenge continues. Bring any project you began before 2015 yet finished in 2015 to show and tell. Each project qualifies for one chance to enter your name in the draw box. More projects = more chances to win. However, each person who enters still has a chance. 3 entries will be drawn at the end of 2015 for a cash prize. You can clean up your UFOs and have a chance to buy more stuff! What could be better?

BOM this month uses four colors plus your background color. There are lots of triangles! Only 3 blocks left to make. We will have 2 blocks assigned in March and 1 in April. All blocks must be assembled and shown in May. Sashing between blocks is 2 1/2 "with 2 1/2 " cornerstones. A 5" border will then be sewn around the whole top.

Jenna showed 4 throws she made for donation quilts. She received the pattern and fabric from a pediatric charity. After making two from their fabric, she made two more from her own stash. The guild talked about the possibility of starting a chapter here or donating throws to a nearby facility. Jenna will find more information and discussion will follow later.

Becky showed a stocking cap she made and a quilt made from a pattern called 'loose change'.

Linda showed a five and dime quilt.

Nita showed filet crochet and a green doily.

Sue showed a small quilt to lay down when changing a diaper.

Carolyn Green showed a doll's bed quilt and pillow. She has an antique doll's bed at home to display it.

Ruth showed a table runner and quilt.

Peggy showed a wall hanging and throw.

Nancy showed some coasters and quilt (square dance)

Gloria showed a basket weave table runner, hot pads, a wall hanging, cozy, and a five and dime quilt.

Carol showed a wonky tree, a quilt with pillow and  an infinity scarf.

People have been busy!

Peggy presented the program - 4 seasons quilt block. Using 3 charm packs of light fabric and 3 charm packs of dark fabric, she made a 55" x 77" quilt. No sashing required.
