January 2011 Guild Highlights


Program


Peggy Reynolds presented the January program. She demonstrated how to make table runners and table placemats out of border or striped fabric.







Flag Day Committee

The Flag Day committee is asking members to make patriotic (red, white and blue) 9 inch blocks (9 inch cut) and bring them to the February meeting. The blocks will be assembled at the March meeting. Here are some links for block patterns to inspire you. No cream fabrics, please.

Block of the Month

Mary Ann Vanderford was the BOM winner for January. The next BOM project is to make one Tulip block. Guild members, the instructions are attached to your most recent newsletter. Here is a picture the finished quilt using the Tulip block.

5th Monday Project

Nancy Kessler will hold a 5th Monday Project on January 31st at the Quilter's Bin. She'll be teaching how to make a 'Snap Bag'. You will need 2 coordinating fat quarters of fabric, as well as fusible fleece interfacing, and a piece of 3/4" tape measure.
