Itchin' for Stitchin' Guild: July 2009 Itchin' for Stitchin' Guild Meeting

Julie Jack was a guest and the program presenter at the July meeting. Julie said that if she had to title her program, it would be, 'Things We Leave Undone'. She lost her mother this past year and shared about the fabric and sewing projects her mother left behind. Julie has enjoyed going through her mother's projects and taking time to finish them and reflect on past times.

Julie shared how to make a rug using double knit fabric and she also shared several other of her mother's projects that she has taken time to finish. The guild members loved her double knit rugs! The program was greatly enjoyed!!

Julie uses a ruler and a compass to mark her rug backing.

August Meeting

The August Itchin' for Stitchin' Guild meeting will be held at the FACS room at the Labette County High School.

Sewing and Quilting Expo Trip

The Labette County Extension Office is sponsering a trip to the Sewing and Quilting Expo in Kansas City on October 23rd. The cost is $10 at the door. If you are interested in attending, contact Nancy Kessler. quiltersbin1399@gmail.com

Quilter's Bin Closed

The Quilter's Bin will be closed on August 3rd and 10th.

RaNae Merrill

Quilt designer, author and teacher, RaNae Merrill, will be with the Altamont Itchin' for Stitchin' guild on September 17th, 2009. RaNae will teach a class during the day and have a trunk show in the evening. The class and trunk show are open to the public and there is a fee. The BOM winner for this month was Carolyn Green. The blocks that you need to have ready for next month are double 4-patch blocks.
