April 3, 2014
The April meeting of the guild was the annual Spring Tea.   Our guests for the evening were Teresa Wheeler and Carol Nicholas.
Nancy told us that the Altamont Flag Day Committee wanted to know if we were interested in having a Quilt Show on Flag Day.  The guild decided not to have a quilt show because there is low traffic in the community in the morning, and the parade is scheduled for the afternoon.
Nancy also told us that the Extension Office was looking for two assistants for the Labette County Fair, one in Crafts and one in the Sewing Department.

It is time to sign up for committees, programs, and renew your membership with the guild.  Annual membership is $20.  The lists were passed around for sign-ups.
Nancy has been in contact with Angela Walters about doing a workshop.  More information was needed from Angela.  Tammy Reynolds volunteered to also look for a instructor for free-motion quilting.

The Spring Tea Committee did a lovely job.  The tables were decorated with spring flowers and Easter eggs.  We had sandwiches, salads, and homemade cookies for our meal.

SHOW AND TELL
Becky showed us a mobile and a crocheted baby blanket that she has made for her new granddaughter that is due in June.

Peggy showed us a quilt that she made.

Gloria showed us a baby blanket that she has made for a coming great-grandchild.

For the program, we enjoyed 40 quilts from the Hoffman Challenge.

Everyone enjoyed a pleasant evening.  Thanks to the Spring Tea committee for making it so nice.
